The Second Annual Portsmouth Half kicks off with packet pickup at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 22nd at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth. The race starts at 8 a.m. and the party goes until 1 p.m.! Click a section below for more details.
Packet pick-up will be held at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth on the morning of the race from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. where you’ll receive your bib and commemorative race tee. As always, you’ll get your medal at the finish line. Shirts won’t be mailed out after the event if you don’t pick yours up, so don’t oversleep!
Jump into Spring on this beautiful rural course that runs on the outskirts of Portsmouth and through the historic towns of Greenland and Newington!
The Portsmouth Half features a gently rolling, scenic, and easy course. The race starts at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth and makes a short loop through a rural neighborhood and then heads out onto Newington Road with views of the Great Bay Estuary and pastoral farm fields. As you cross the town border into Newington, you experience the serenity of the Great Bay National Wildlife preserve before coming into the village area where you run by centuries-old stone walls and cemeteries. At the turn around you will be treated to views of the Newington Historic district complete with the Old Town Hall. Next you will high five your friends on the out and back section and retrace your steps back to the finish.
This course is USATF certified.
Join us after the race on the lawn at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth for an after party featuring craft beer from local brewery Henniker Brewing, pizza samples from American Flatbread, delicious Stonyfield Yogurt, and refreshing Hint Water! The best part? Everything is included with your registration!
Directions & Parking
The race starts and finishes at Mercedes-Benz of Portsmouth, 309 Portsmouth Ave, Greenland, NH 03840. However, there’s no parking at the dealership or on adjacent roads, but there will be plenty of FREE parking at Great Bay Community College, 320 Corporate Dr, Portsmouth, NH 03801 and a FREE shuttle between the college and the Start/Finish both before and after the race (for both runners AND spectators). Please arrive by 6:30 a.m. to ensure you have enough time to park, catch the shuttle, and check in before the race begins at 8 a.m.
